Privacy Policy

We protect personal information in accordance with our Personal Information Protection Policy and, as a "business operator handling personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, observe all the stipulations specified below when handling personal information.

Personal Information Protection Policy

Our handling (obtainment, use, and provision) of, and access to, personal information

T.D.I.CO.,LTD. (hereinafter, "tdi") acknowledges the importance of personal information and regards the protection of personal information as one of tdi's fundamental activities. Based on its recognition that making a sincere effort to protect personal information is its important social responsibility, tdi hereby stipulates the Personal Information Protection Policy as stated below and ensures that the policy is disseminated to and implemented by all employees.

Proper collection and use of personal information

tdi collects personal information only when such collection does not harm the rights or interests of individuals from whom it is collected or third parties and only after tdi specifies to each individual the purpose of use of personal information collected and receives their consent. Personal information collected is properly used only for the purposes specified and within a limited scope of usage.

Entrustment of handling of and joint use of personal information

tdi does not provide personal information collected to any third party without the consent of the individuals from whom it is collected, except where providing personal information is required under an order based on legislation. However, tdi may, from time to time, entrust the handling of personal information collected to outside parties for such purposes as information processing. Personal information may also be used jointly with other businesses, except where such joint use is prohibited by an order based on legislation. tdi entrusts the handling of personal information to, or uses personal information jointly with, outside parties only when it is verified that the protection of personal information by such parties meets or exceeds the required standard and that proper supervision over the parties is conducted through a contract.

Request for disclosure, correction, deletion, discontinuation of use, etc.; response to complaints and consultations

In the event that an individual from whom personal information subject to disclosure is collected requests tdi to, among others, disclose, correct, delete, or discontinue the use of his/her personal information, or expresses a complaint to, or consults with, tdi regarding its handling of his/her personal information, tdi deals with such request, complaint, or consultation in accordance with a separately established procedure as soon as is reasonably possible.

Prevention and correction of loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of, or unauthorized access to, personal information

tdi protects personal information under strict control and takes reasonable safety measures against all risks including loss, damage, leaking, or unauthorized access. tdi establishes and implements specific rules on proper handling and operation of personal information and appoints a manager.

Compliance with laws, regulations, and other norms relating to personal information

To ensure the protection of personal information handled in the course of its business operations as well as the personal information of its executives and employees in compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and other norms relating to the protection of personal information, tdi establishes and properly implements a management system that meets the "Personal Information Protection Management Systems--Requirements" Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS Q 15001:2006). tdi's executives, employees, and partners also comply with laws, regulations, guidelines, and other norms relating to the protection of personal information and secrecy of communications.

Continuous improvement of the Personal Information Protection Policy and management system

tdi continuously improves its Personal Information Protection Policy and management system to ensure that personal information is protected effectively and in such a way as to meet the expectations of society at all times.

Access to individuals using personal information obtained

tdi receives prior consent when obtaining personal information in writing directly from individuals. In cases where personal information is obtained in ways other than in writing and indirectly from individuals, tdi notifies such individuals as to how it has obtained their personal information and accesses such information only upon their consent. tdi also discontinues the use of personal information when requested to do so by the individual from whom the personal information is obtained.

tdi's commitment to the protection of personal information

tdi has obtained the PrivacyMark certification from JIPDEC, which certifies that tdi's handling of personal information meets the standardized requirements, after undergoing the examination process conducted by the Japan Information Technology Services Industry Association (JISA).

tdi's Handling of Personal Information

We protect personal information in accordance with our Personal Information Protection Policy and, as a "business operator handling personal information" as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, observe all the stipulations specified below when handling personal information.

Purposes of use of personal information

Personal information obtained and held by tdi is used for the following purposes:

Use of personal information for purposes other than the above

In cases where the need arises to use personal information for purposes other than those specified above, tdi obtains consent from each individual from whom personal information is collected except where use without consent is permitted by legislation.
When obtaining personal information directly from customers in writing, tdi expressly shows the purposes of using the personal information to each customer in advance.

Provision of personal information to third parties

tdi manages customers' personal information properly and does not provide it to any third party without customers' consent. However, in the case of a situation that is considered to fall under any of the following items, tdi may provide personal information to one or more third parties while protecting the rights and interests of the customers to the maximum extent possible.

  • When the provision of personal information is required by legislation
  • If the personal information is necessary to save the life, body, or property of a person and obtaining the customer's prior consent is difficult
  • When the personal information is especially necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound growth of children and obtaining the customer's prior consent is difficult
  • When the personal information is necessary for a state institution, a local government, or an individual or a business operator entrusted by such entities to execute operations prescribed by laws and regulations and obtaining the customer's prior consent may impede the execution of such operations

About anonymous processing information

tdi will not handle "anonymously processed information" information about individuals obtained by processing personal information so that it is not possible to identify a specific individual by taking prescribed measures. In the future, when handling occurs, we will publicize the necessary requirements required by laws and regulations and related guidelines, implement safety management measures, and implement appropriate handling.

Entrustment of the handling of personal information

tdi may, from time to time, entrust the handling of personal information to one or more individuals or business operators when outsourcing a part of its operations to such individual(s) or business operator(s) for the smooth performance of the operations. If this is the case, tdi selects the individual(s) or business operator(s) who meet(s) tdi's set standards and also ensures that the personal information will be protected properly by entering into a contract on the handling of personal information with and executing appropriate supervision over the individual(s) or business operator(s).

Disclosure, correction, discontinuation of use, deletion, etc. of registered information

tdi properly responds to individuals' requests for the disclosure, correction, discontinuation of use, etc. of their personal information, which may be filed based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, as well as to complaints and requests for consultation from individuals. Individuals who wish to make such a request are asked to submit tdi's prescribed request form and a document that certifies their identity. Voluntary nature of provision of personal information

It is a voluntary choice for each individual as to whether to provide their personal information or not, but in cases where they choose not to provide their personal information, the outcome may not be one that fully meets their expectations (for example, tdi may not be able to answer their inquiries).

Acquisition of personal information by methods that are not easily recognized by individuals

tdi does not acquire personal information using any methods that are not expressly specified to nor easily recognized by individuals.

Security of the website, etc.

Personal information registered on tdi's website is protected by the Secure Sockets Layer encryption technology, a security measure that prevents data in transit on a network from being tapped.
SSL is a standard technology used for keeping Internet communications secure. It encrypts the entire connection to prevent input data transmitted online from being intercepted.
Customers' information is stored on servers that are guarded rigidly and access to the servers is restricted to the minimum necessary number of employees.

Access log

With a view to making its services even better, tdi--in addition to personal information--collects access logs using cookies* on its website to monitor customers' access patterns and measure the effectiveness of advertisements. The access logs include information on the IP address, type of web browser used, and domain name, as well as URLs accessed. Data on customers' history of clicks on URLs, etc. sent to them via e-mail as well as on image data may also be collected to analyze their behavior.

Cloud service

With the aim of ensuring the security of servers, tdi may utilize client terminal information to which services are provided. The terminal information collected includes terminal identification numbers.

Re-marketing advertisements

tdi uses the cookie-based re-marketing function and runs its online advertisements on various websites through Google and other third-party advertisement distributors to publicize its services to as many people as possible. Cookies are used to the extent specified on the website of each third-party advertisement distributor based on their privacy policy, etc.
